A huge military intelligence aircraft has overshot a runway in Hawaii and crashed into the ocean.
The US Navy P-8A plane missed its mark while trying to land at a US Marines base 10 miles away from Honolulu on Monday afternoon.
Nine people on board were forced to swim back to shore after smashing into the sea rainy weather. All of them were unharmed.
The plane crash was reported at around 2pm local time, off the coast of O’ahu
Incredible pictures showed the huge aircraft floating just off the coast in Kaneohe Bay as rescuers raced to help.
Its fuselage appeared intact, suggesting a low-speed crash into the sea. Gunnery Sgt Orlando Perez said it was a Poseidon reconnaissance plane used for intelligence.

The base is in Kaneohe Bay, off the coast off Oahu
The Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) sent out the initial alert just after 2 pm for a ‘probable aircraft fire incident,’ according to KITV.
The P-8A is manufactured by Boeing and shares many parts with the 737 commercial jet.
The base is home to over 25,000 Marines, sailors, family members and civilian employees.
